Higher education after the pandemic - trends and challenges.


Has the pandemic changed our lives or only accelerated the changes that are already brewing? The rapid changes in the living conditions of the entire mankind have created new approaches to the digitalization of universities and the organization of online education. The track will analyze best practices of the digital transformation of education and business, effective models of online learning and remote work. A separate discourse in the track is dedicated to the new role of the teacher and problems that arise during the transition from the traditional educational space to an individual dynamic interactive online environment. The experts will also consider the situation related to changing requests from the business community for new professional skills and the responsibility of universities to their graduates for the formation of an actual portfolio of competencies.


  1. “Total online” in education - a new world paradigm or a solution to current problems? Online education before and after COVID - 19: challenges and prospects. What online technologies were temporary and forced during the pandemic and do they have a future? Does online format provide equal opportunities for getting education? Distance education at school: an online breakthrough or online collapse, what will be the quality of the future applicant.
  2. Online and offline training: is there a compromise. Mastering educational programs online with the same quality of training: myth or reality. Best practices of digital transformation of universities, allowing to ensure a stable position in the international educational market. Effective online learning implementation models. Integration into the educational process of highly effective digital services oriented to the labor market and implementation of the digital economy needs. The optimal combination of distance and traditional forms of learning.
  3. A university teacher as a key element in the distance learning system, his readiness for the new role of knowledge transfer through digital services. Search for effective interactive learning technologies in distance learning to identify and develop personal qualities of students, contributing to increased responsibility and interest in mastering the discipline. Does a personalized, distance learning require new professional competences from the teacher. Online teaching – load decrease or increase.
  4. New professions and the labor market: reengineering in the structure, principles and processes of doing business. Will university graduates be needed, taking into account job cuts in the labor market and “human withdrawal as an intermediary from a number of processes” and how the university can formulate soft skills required by business, relying on new technological markets for NTI.

New architectonics of the educational space


The track is dedicated to discussing the current state of affairs in higher education and analyzing a number of problems that have arisen within universities and in the education system as a whole. During the track, models of building higher education systems in different countries will be considered and best practices in the implementation of educational cases providing the university with stable competitive advantages will be presented. The key theme of the track will be the personalization of education and how the university should diversify its resources.

How can a university flexibly adapt to external challenges in the context of globalization and a dynamically changing labor market, how will the applied new technologies and personnel solutions at universities affect the efficiency and quality of training of qualified graduates, will digitalization and individualization of education help here? By participating in this track you will find answers to all these and many other questions.


  1. Does the Russian higher education system meet the expectations of the state and society? Effective models of higher education systems in the Eurasian educational space. Transformation of goals and values of higher education.
  2. Reform 2 + 2 + 2 - modernization or what remains of higher education. Best practices to support individualization of education and the formation of flexible educational trajectories for students, providing maximum professional mobility and opening up new opportunities for graduates for successful socialization, effective self-realization and building a sustainable career path.
  3. New university architectonics: modern models of world-class universities with a successful ranking in the international arena of educational services, research and innovation. How can Russian universities bridge the gap between external challenges and the current situation inside the university? Does the enlargement of the university’s educational structures allow pooling of resources and creating an effective space for decision-making and flexible adaptation of education to business needs?
  4. Effective models of interaction between the university and the region. How to combine the efforts of stakeholders for advanced training and transfer of high technologies to the region’s economy? What are the opportunities of modern regional universities from the point of view of creating strategic alliances with scientific institutions, the real sector of the economy, and authorities?
  5. Human resources - a university development strategy. Ways to improve the effectiveness of the management team: to develop the professionalism of the existing personnel or to attract more competent new members to the team?

Research potential of the university: local or global trends


Modern trends in scientific, technological and educational development at the regional and global levels call for the search for effective methods and organizational forms of interaction between the subjects of the scientific and educational ecosystem. The track is dedicated to the global processes of scientific development of universities, building international collaborations, revival of the institute of scientific postgraduate studies and the study of the development path of world-class scientific and educational centers.


  1. Scientific results and new ideas, publication activity and academic mobility: technologies for promoting regional universities in the global scientific space.
  2. Rankings: conscious need or requirements of the time. Research and personnel potential as the basis for the university’s positioning in global rankings.
  3. Effective models for building international scientific and technological partnerships.
  4. World-Class Research Centers and REC as an external ecosystem for enhancing university competitiveness: first results and key problems.
  5. Revival of the institute of scientific postgraduate study: conditions for improving the quality of young scientists training. Science popularization for the formation of the qualities of a researcher – innovator among students and the development of an environment for testing innovative technologies and competencies.

Education of future change leaders: challenges from the university, society, business and government


As part of the track, its participants are invited to discuss successful strategies, tools and mechanisms for searching, selecting and supporting talented youth. Models of innovative corporate educational alliances of schools, colleges, universities and companies built on the basis of integration that provide training for young technology leaders for the real sector of the economy, the development of mentoring, tutoring and the practice of targeted training of teaching staff will be considered. During the track, the experience of the formation of educational programs of foreign resource centers, the features of their development and implementation will be studied.


  1. Strategies for supporting gifted and highly motivated youth in the context of globalization of education and modern challenges of the economy (schoolchild - student - professional). Best practices of universities and industrial companies in identifying, supporting and professional development of talented youth (olympiad movement, summer and winter schools, case championships, internships, etc.).
  2. Successful models of interaction and innovative infrastructure solutions in the system (school-college-university-company) aimed at training young technology leaders for the real sector of the economy. The educational potential of the platform “Russia is a country of opportunities” as a resource for the development of university practices in working with talents.
  3. Transformation of the teacher training system: attracting talented youth to education, development of tutoring and mentoring.
  4. Resource and representative centers created abroad as a factor in promoting Russian education in foreign markets. Fine tuning: adaptive and personalized training and targeted programs.
